We have some very good friends in Germany and have been visiting them and the country several times.
One of the advantages of having friends abroad is that they know their country and can take us to a lot of nice and intereseting places a little out of the touristiq hotspots.
The pictures are from Harz, Oberstdorf and Franken.
Franken is one of the important wine-districts in the sothern part of Germany. It is quite unnormal for people from Norway to hike for many kilometers through wineyards. We also visited nice villages, eat good food and a had boattrip on the river Main.
The Brochen-area in Harz is where all the whiches come from, there is a well known railway with the steem-train up to the Brochen mountain and it is a very nice place for hiking.
Oberstdorf is known for the skijumping hill, the "kabel-banehn"(up to Nebelhorn is maybe the most famous one) with a perfect panorama to the high mountains of the Bavarian Alps. There are good tracks for hiking from one gondola station to another one.
..... and many more places in that beautiful country!
